Mustang 2010-2014 steering wheel controls stopped working or they don't execute the correct function
If your steering wheel buttons are not responding or are not performing the correct function, the first thing to do is to clean the car's battery terminals as that is the most likely cause (bad ground).
If cleaning the battery terminals doesn't fix the issue, the next most likely is liquid, cleaning product residue, and/or corrosion underneath the buttons causing the resistance value seen by the head unit to be out of range. Cleaning underneath the buttons should resolve this.
Lastly, if you have a camera installed, make sure it is properly grounded to the vehicle. A bad ground can cause interference such as steering wheel controls not working properly.
